Module 5•35 min•6 units
Production Optimisation
Production optimisation is the process of maximising oil and gas output from existing wells and facilities while respecting equipment, safety, and economic constraints. This module covers the key techniques - gas lift optimisation, choke management, waterflood optimisation, and nodal analysis - that digital oilfields use to squeeze every barrel from the reservoir.
Learning objectives
After completing this module, you'll be able to:
- Explain how gas lift optimisation maximises oil production across a field
- Describe choke management strategies and their impact on well performance
- Understand waterflood optimisation and how injection patterns affect recovery
- Apply nodal analysis concepts to diagnose well deliverability issues
Prerequisites
- Completion of Modules 1-4 recommended
- Basic understanding of artificial lift and well operations is helpful
